Fr. H.Paul was born in South Korea in 1973 as a middle of three boys. He received a BA in Economics and served South Korean infantry for 26 months. Before the graduation, he worked in China as a manager and then he entered the seminary in 1999. After receiving a BA in Philosophy in 2003, he was asked to study theology in Cleveland, Ohio. (He didn't know where Cleveland was!) Since then, he studied at St. Mary Seminary in Cleveland and received M.Div. and M.A in 2007. He was ordained at St. John Cathedral, Cleveland for the archdiocese of Deagu, South Korea. He was assigned to St. Anthony of Padua, Parma for a two-year term. As he finished his first assignment in June, 2009, he was accepted to study the Master of Nonprofit Administration at John Carroll University. He has also joined the Campus Ministry to serve students as a resident minister.
Fr. H.Paul runs. He has run one half and five full marathons since 2005. In 2009, he finished Boston Marathon by 3:07:35. He likes playing soccer, riding a bike and walking in nature. He enjoys his tea time with meditative music and incense. As a minister in residence, he loves to hear stories of others and to walk with them as a spiritual companion.
