In the last school mass for the kindergarten, third and fourth grades at St. Anthony church, I asked the kindergarten, "Do you think how old I am?"
They seriously thought and said, "86!"
I laughed and another raised a hand and said, "100!"
So I showed the picture taken one hundred days after my birth.
The children seemed to surprise to see Fr. H.Paul’s different face. They said, "Cute! "Chubby!"
I talked to them, "I was like you when I was a baby. Maybe the fourth grades think the kindergarten are too young. But to me all of you are too little. How about to God’s eyes? I believe we are all children to him. So we can become a friend to each other regardless of our age or appearance. I want to be called your friend."
At the end of the mass, I asked again how old they think I am.
They were very generous this time, pondering seriously, and said, "82!"
"I gladly take that, my friend." I said.
