When was the last time for you to go out to make a snowman? What about a snowball fight?
It is sad to see our kids are not active nor adventurous anymore. They prefer staying home, playing video games and being busy with other schedules. I love my children at St. Anthony School, so I want them to go out to make snowmen and to have snowball fights. But there are many regulations that say, “You are not allowed to walk on or even touch the snow.” We are definitely lost in some way to concern of our children.
Last Thursday, we had a quite snow in Parma. I went out at 9:00PM to make a snowman. It was fun to roll around a small snowball and to see it getting bigger and bigger until I couldn’t move it anymore. I put the snowman in front of the school enterance, so that people can see and wonder how much our children are excited about it. I put on a priestly color on my snowman. On the following day, I can imagine how excited my little ones were because I had a school mass and their faces glowed with big smiles. Children are the same all over the world! I let them know that the snowman’s name is John from Korea and then there is another one Paul is on the way. Giggling, talking to one another, the children’s day was complete, I believe.
